  10. snowythewolf:

    Original post here

    So thelovelyfox wanted me to write and publish my ideas for WoW after the WoD expansion, so here they are.

    Ok, so I’ll start out with how and why I came up with the ideas.

    So you, know how blizard has only made races based off of creatures which
    have been believed to exist, such as werewolves (Worgens), Orcs, trolls, minotaurs (Tauren), etc.
    So one night back in summer 2013, I started thinking; “I wish they would release some angelic and demonic races”.
    And from that, came the idea of angel and demon races, and so, I started thinking, the angels should look a lot like
    the current human race, but a bit larger and have broader shoulders. While the demons should have looks that
    resembles the orcs, but at the same time the undead and the human races.

    Angels could be able to be played as these classes:
    Paladins, Warriors, Druids, Mages, priests and monks

    While

    Demons could be able to be played as these classes:
    Warriors, Hunters, Druids, Shamans, Warlocks and Rogues

    Racial abilities could be:
    Angels;
    Mass cleansing
    - Self cast; Revives, heals and teleports all part/raid members to casters current position. (only revived players would
    be teleported to casters location, if they choose to accept it withing a certain amount of time.) 60 minute cooldown
    (party members cannot teleport to caster in PvP but will be instantly ressurected inside stronghold and gain a
    movement speed buff for 15 seconds increasing their movement speed by 50%)

    - enemy target cast; Smites all enemies within 30 yards for up to aproximately 20% of their maximum health (15% of
    missing health on enemy players) and applies a DoT effect that deals 1%-5% of it’s maximum health per tick.(not the
    same percentage every time, varies hugely, can do as much as 5% on every tick or as low as 1% per tick) for six
    seconds. ticks once every 1.5 second.  60 minute cooldown.

    Demons;
    Fueled rage
    (Blood bath cannot be on cooldown) Applies a buff to all party/raid members withing 100 yards, increasing their
    attack damage by 20% and armor by 30%. lasts 30 minutes. sixty minute cooldown

    Blood bath.
    (Fueled rage cannot be on cooldown) Applies a bleed on all enemies within 30 yards for up to aproximately 20% of
    their maximum health (15% of missing health on enemy players) and applies a DoT effect that deals 1%-5% of it’s
    maximum health per tick.(not the same percentage every time, varies hugely, can do as much as 5% on every tick or
    as low as 1% per tick) for six seconds. ticks once every 1.5 second.  60 minute cooldown.

    Passive mounts:
    Angels;
    At level 20 earns an angelic steed. (ground only)
    At level 100 earns an angelic, white, golden armoured gryphon. (flight & ground)

    Demons;
    At level 20 earns a hellhound. (ground only)
    At level 100 earns a demonic, ebony armoured, undead chimera. (flight & ground)

    Starting area for;
    Angels - Heaven. works as an instance, like Worgen and Goblin starter areas. Gets overwhelmed by demons, forcing
    the angels to flee to Azeroth. Gets taken in by the Alliance.

    Demons - Hell. works as an instance, like Worgen and Goblin starter areas. Gets overwhelmed by Angels, forcing the
    Demons to flee to Azeroth. Gets taken in by the Horde.

    If you feel like anything should be added, add it in a comment.

    dis is thelovelyfox speakin:

    thanks for writing this up, very interesting to read. Those racials though, pretty op.

    As for the level 100 mount, I think you should steer away from the gryphons/chimaera as they’re very much faction orientated. I think it should be more like sprouting wings from their back, white/glowing light wings for the angels and dark purple, seeping shadows (like warlock demonic form) wings for demons.

    I don’t know much lore behind them, but I imagine the Valkyrie by your descriptions ^ v ^

    Good work!

  15. Here’s a tip if you’re late (like me) working on your cloak

    ivorynetsuke:

    Specifically, the quest Spirit of the Storm Lord.

    If you’re like me, you’re going to look over this and think, holy fuck I’m going to have to get a group or partner to help me spear Nalak. No. No you don’t. I’m going to save you sifting through 200+ comments on Wowhead, too. I’m going to give you a tip that will make this one of the easiest quests ever.

    1. Before you do anything, head to Jade Forest and get yourself a Cracked Talisman. The NPCs are not rare spawns so kill and loot.

    2. Go to Isle of Thunder and the court where Nalak is. Run up to the Northern stairs (and if you’re also thinking holy fuck I’m going to aggro and die horribly, no, you can run right underneath him).

    3. Get within max range of the spear (maybe three tiles away from the stairs?) and spear Nalak.

    4. Use your talisman.

    5. Run up to the top of the stairs where the Pandaren are at to feed Nalak some snacks. But mainly, enjoy your twenty seconds of invulnerability and your charged lance.

    The end.
